This workshop offers a special opportunity to experience and to photograph extraordinary Venice, its people and its culture. We will be living in a refurbished convent just off the Campo Santo Stefano near the Accademia Bridge in the San Marco sector of Venice. During the week we will be taking field trips and working together to optimize, edit and critique our images. There will also be ample opportunity to wander off on your own to shoot and to explore.

Personal Vision
7 Sessions: Thursdays, 2:30 – 5:00, April 24 - June 5
The goal of this workshop is to create a coherent portfolio of 6-12 beautifully printed images. Digital photography provides us with countless tools to refine our images and express our personal visions, but this range of possibilities can also generate endless confusion. In the first session we will look at everyone’s work and begin the process of creating portfolios. The next 2 sessions will be technically oriented. Using at least one of each participant’s digital files and comparing the printed proofs to the onscreen image, I will be demonstrate how to maximize the potential of the images with a strong emphasis on workflow. The remaining classes will focus on composition, content and style with one more session devoted to working out the technical kinks. Participants will develop a project that prepares them for juried submissions and exhibition opportunities. $600
